Hi to everyone,

Give me some idea on how to check physical hard disk. A step by step process is needed to be followed in order to obtain a successful task. I have no idea about computers and I need some assistance regarding this matter. I and my friend are having problem with the hard disk information and we got to find out all the details needed. Please do help me.

Hi,

 

To check your hard disk physically and details of your hard disk follow these steps.

 

1. On desktop double click on My computer or it will be just by the name of computer.

2. A window will open.

3. Now select the hard disk partition and right click on it.

4. A drop down menu will appear. Click on properties.

5. In properties now select the Tools tab.

 

 

6. Click on check now.

7. In General you will see the detail of the partition of the hard disk.

8. Check other partition also.

Hi,

First, go to the "My Computer». Select your disks one by one and reproduce the following operation. Right-click on the disk and then "Properties". In the "Tools" tab, select "Check Now." A window opens. Check both options auto repair and data recovery, and validate. The disc can turn safely. Do not hesitate to repeat this procedure every brutal cut of power to your computer.

Give me some idea on how to check physical hard disk.

I think what you want to do is check the physical health of your hard disk and that would be easy using disk utility applications. One disk utility you can use is PC Tools Performance Toolkit. Follow the instructions to download and unpack and then install it. Once installed, start PC Tools then go to “Recovery” tab and click “Repair Drives”.

On the next screen under “Select Drive Operation”, select “Surface Scan” to check the drive physically. Select the drive to check from the list then click “Start”. If you see “Drive cannot be repaired”, click “Continue” then repeat the same steps again.

When you’re back in “Repair Drive” screen, this time check “Perform on reboot” then click “Start” and then “Continue”. Restart your computer and PC Tools will diagnose your drive while booting.

After booting, start PC Tools again then go back to the “Repair Drive” screen by following the same steps. You should see the result of the test here. If you want to check the health of the partitions on the hard disk, go back to the “Repair Drive” screen and select “Check Partition Structure” then click “Start”.

PC Tools will check the structure of the existing partitions on the disk for errors. The result should look something like this.
