I have an HP Windows 7 enabled laptop. The system architecture is 64-bit. I am having issues with my hard disk drive. I have encountered the Error 1117 IO device error. Please help.

You can try any one of the methods given below.

1. Open the Start Menu. Click on the Windows button. Open the Run dialogue box. Type the command ‘chkdsk’ and then press enter. This will prompt the Windows Disk Check service to check your hard drive for errors. Windows Disk Check service can automatically detect and resolve most of the errors related to your hard disk.

2. It is also possible that a particular sector on your hard disk has been corrupted permanently and there is no way to repair it. Thus your service must be accessing this sector.
