I have faced a problem in my office, relevant to databases in SQL Server. For its rectification, I wanted to carry the two different  Databases to my senior, using a Seagate USB Drive about 320 GB storage capacity. Free space it contains is 60 GB.

But the two Databases Backups contains as under;

Database-01= 3.50 GB         Database-02= 19.40 GB

No error while copying the data into the device from my PC.  But while getting the data, Database-01 has copied safely and restored as well but in copying the Database-02, I got an error message :  Can not copy from Mass storage device,  after copying almost 95%.

I have followed this exercise again and again but the error remains the same.

The error may have  occurred due to large file size. In order to determine the problem regarding your HD, follow these steps:

1. First of all, check what system is your HD running, an NTFS or FAT32. You can easily check that by right clicking the drive. In the dialog box you will see the HD type NTFS or FAT32.

2. If it is FAT32, then, you will have to format you HD using NTFS because using FAT32 restricts your data handling to 4 GB data. If it is greater than 4 GB, you will have problems in copying or moving.

3. If the problem still persists, then contact your HD vendor.

Hope this helps.
