Gateway M6312 Laptop screen problem!

I have a Gateway laptop I am fixing for a friend.Its a M6312,Their dog knocked it onto floor and the LCD brock,I just replaced it with a  brandnew one.I started it up and i can barly see the screen, It is very dark.It looks like the backlight is not turn on.How to turn it on.Please help me!!

Gateway M6312 Laptop screen problem!

You can turn the backlight on if you tap rapidly on the lid close switch, but in most cases when the screen always stay black and the backlight never comes on, the screen inverter is the culprit. These are some failure symptoms of LCD screen backlight that could be related to a bad inverter board. -The backlight never comes on but you still can make out an image on the LCD. The image is still there but it's dark. -Sometimes the backlight comes back but then goes off again. -Laptop boots as usual but after sometime the screen blacks out. You still can see an image on the screen but its very dim. – A buzzing noise coming from the area where the inverter board is located.
