BBM, Apple Viber, Facebook chat and many more are the hippest way to send message or chat to people who uses the said data applications. What is the effect of Data Applications in the future once more and more people use it and will simple SMS or text messaging become obsolete in the near future?

From a research of  last 2 or three years it has been revealed something like your questions. What will be the future of text messaging? Will it be can put it’s name on backdated list? Messaging is a faster and easier way to get connected with people. With express yourself little bit, you can go through a conversation with anyone. It makes connectivity enjoyable. So that messaging was able to capture the market of phone call.

As like today, where Facebook, internet server, Google+ or site like linked in, interest makes this chat more enjoyable and absolutely cost free then paid SMS services served by all telecommunication company has been losing it popularity day by day. Ovum ( a research firm from  London) has research and estimates  the telecoms companies lost in last year.  It was nearly £ 9bn in text-messaging revenue. Their all consumers are migrated to applications that give them the opportunity to send messages over mobile data networks.

Future Messaging via Data Apps

Hi Carlton,

I think those data apps that you mentioned will surely be the primary data communication tools in the future. Since most of those applications offers unlimited texting. But there will surely be new and more demanding services that will come along. And more and more cell phone users will take advantage of a much wider and a lot more new features and capabilities of their mobile phones. Sending SMS will cost cheaper on the future years due to the high demand on using those data apps.
