FUTA software “Error line 3” message received during calculations

My business is using the FUTA software package to verify pay-roll calculations. An error appears when calculating the pay sheet assessments:

Error:

FUTA Tax 2011
Error Line 3: 2011 FUTA base must be greater than 1

What exactly does this mean? Do you think that I’ve got a data error? Or could it possibly be the info that I put in regarding personnel? I’d be infinitely grateful for any help.

FUTA software “Error line 3” message received during calculations

The "Error Line 3: FUTA base must be greater than 1" of your Futa software means that  the withholdings you have been calculated have been mistakenly assigned to an employee without setting up first the employee share.  

This means that you have to set up first an employee share for withholdings after it has been calculated before you will assign it to an employee. 

In order to solve this problem, first, you go to Employees withholding screen click once on FUTA to select it and then click Delete. 

In this way, you can correct your data.
