I want to have a chat room on my blog, something that would appear on the right side where people could talk about what I have written. Please tell me where I can get public chat rooms software or widget that I could use on my blog. I want something customizable.

You have download chat widget and you have to integrate them in your blog.  You can use any of the following

Meebo me!, Chat Box and Shoutbox, Chatters and meebo me!

Choose any one software which you like then install it,s code in to your blog or website.

if you are using word press , installing the html code is very easy , just follow these steps

1.Go to new post

2.switch to "html editor" in your posting new post area

3.put the code that you have picked from that site i shared with you.
