After installing the free AVG 2012, all the services started successfully except the antivirus or resident shield. Please note the status of antivirus in the image.
Free AVG 2012 antivirus failed to start
Uninstall current AVG.
You must first download AVG uninstall/cleanup utility here: AVG Remover 2012 (32 bit & 64 bit version).
For Vista or Windows 7, remember to right-click on it and choose "Run as Administrator".
AVG remover must be finished completely – stopping of AVG services may take more time.
Remove these folders after restart:
Windows XP
C:Program FilesAVG or C:Program files(x86)AVG (for 64bit OS)
C:Documents and settingsAll usersApplication dataAVG8
C:Documents and settingsAll usersApplication dataAVG9
C:Documents and settingsAll usersApplication dataAVG10
