The above error code may have popped up as you may have inserted a dirty or scratched disc or it might have also been that the device could not load the game. The best ways to fix it are:

1. Eject the disc and try re-inserting it, make sure that it is clean and free of dirt, scratches, and marks.

2. If the problem continues, try loading a different disc. If it loads without any problem then, the first disc may need to be replaced as it may have been damaged beyond repair.

3. If you’re loading from the Hard Disk then, delete and reinstall the game.

4. It the problem continues then, enters Safe Mode and select “Restore File System” and then try loading the game again.

If you have a Sony PlayStation 3 and you receive error code “80010017,” it means the PlayStation 3 or the game console wasn’t able to load the game data or the game. One possible reason for this is a dirty disc or a scratched disc. To fix this, eject the disc then wipe the surface of the disc with a soft clean cloth.

After this, insert the disc and try loading the game again. See if this works. If this doesn’t work, eject the disc then load a different disc. See if the second disc works. If the second disc loads successfully, the first disc may be damaged and may need to be replaced.

If you are trying to load the game data installed on the PlayStation 3 system hard disk, delete and reinstall the game data. If this doesn’t work, enter Safe Mode. To enter Safe Mode, first, make sure the power indicator on the PlayStation 3 is solid red. Press and hold the power button until the game console shuts down and then release the button.

Again, after a few seconds press and hold the power button until you hear two short beeps and a message appears on the screen. On your controller, press the “PS” button to start PlayStation 3 in Safe Mode. Once you’re in Safe Mode, select “Restore File System” and then try loading the game again. See if this works.
