Fan making lot of noise in my iMac system

Hello everybody,

I am having an iMac compute and it was working perfectly fine. Last year I changed the hard drive in it. But recently, the fan in the system started making loud noise whenever we run videos or scanning the system using Anti virus software. Is this a problem with the hard drive replacement? I don't really think so. But, Please let me know what is the issue and how can I resolve it. Thanks in advance for your kind help.

Hi William T Beasley,

I am sorry to hear that you are facing this problem. Please follow these simple steps below to resolve this issue:

1. In Applications/ Utilities open Activity Monitor.

2. Select the CPU tab.

3. In the pop- up menu, choose All Processes.

4. Choose the % CPU Column.

5. Look for any application that is using the CPU.

6. If any of the processes is taking up more than 70% of the CPU it is putting stress on the system. You may quit unnecessary applications.
