While I am using Ubuntu to eliminate a virus from Windows. I just get an error in Avast probably because of making an invalid argument.

 

 

Avast! Error

An error occurred in avast! Engine: Invalid argument

 

Whoa, the error appeared out of the blue… Please help me guys.

Hi Ruth, normally what you have encountered is still a corrupted file under your Avast application that is why the computer is prompting you an error. The best resolution for you is to reinstall your anti virus and make sure internet connections are working good. Please do not forget to save your important files in another drive.

Hello Ruth,

To resolve that issue, you will need to run the following command:

sudo sysctl -w kernel.shmmax=128000000

kernel.shmmax = 128000000

But before that you can try reinstalling the Ubuntu Computer Janitor tool with the correct license key just in case the problem is with the registration of the antivirus.
