Facebook has made the first move to security by adding a message at the top of every member’s newsfeed suggesting them to follow some simple security tips. The users should be asked for their cell number to verify their own account. Will these steps really secure our Facebook account?

Hi, Dawn! I have just read your query. I am a Facebook user too and I have tried a lot of security measures for my account.  I browsed the web to find other suggestions or opinions from bloggers around the world regarding this topic. After reading those blogs, I have discovered that they are all saying the same – these Facebook’s security methods are very useful indeed. One of their security measures is to verify the user’s account through a code which will be sent to the user’s cell phone number. Since only the user knows what was the code that was sent to his/her cellphone, only him/her can verify or activate his account.

Actually, it's a good method to secure the Facebook account as well as preventing spammers.  🙂
