To solve the issue about permissions to send emails to a certain recipient, you must make sure that the SMTP address policy reflecting your external.com domain should not be altered. If it is, you will have to change the parameters to make it accept the connections from the authenticated users instead of the authenticated computers. To check it, please try the following:

1. Load your Exchange System Manager

2. Select Recipient Policies in the tree which is found on the left under Recipients

3. Right click on the Default Policy which is in the right hand pane

4. Choose Properties

5. Select the “Email Addresses Policy” option

6. Please make sure that the entry @userdomain.local is edited to @userdomain.com
