ESET Smart Security Installation Error in Toshiba

 Hi,

I own a Toshiba laptop (5.x) and am attempting to install Windows ESET Smart Security 5.

During the installation process, I  got 3 different errors.

I receive the message “Error: 1 (error 1)” or “Error 2878” or “Installation Error.

Please try again, or download and install offline installer”.

Please help me install this software.

ESET Smart Security Installation Error in Toshiba

Hello Joey keen, I have read your query.

It’s my understanding that Norton Internet Security was installed previously on your Toshiba Laptop. You are encountering this error because your previous installation of Norton and Norton/Toshiba Laptop Checkup are causing the conflict with new installation. So, you will have to uninstall them first to install Eset Smart Security.

To rectify this problem, please do as follow:

3. Go to Add Remove Programs and uninstall Norton Internet Security. After the uninstallation of Norton Internet Security now is the time to uninstall Norton/Toshiba Laptop Check, uninstall this software. Restart your Laptop, now the chances are you will not encounter any problem.

2. You can also use Norton Removal tool to remove Norton Internet Security and Norton/Toshiba Laptop Checkup from your Laptop completely. This tool can be downloaded from this link. After uninstallation, you should be able to install Eset Smart Security.

1. You can also remove Norton/Toshiba Laptop Checkup by uninstallation string. To do so, click on start menu and go to search. Type “C:Program Files (x86)NortonInstaller{170fa89a-6886-4c9e-b17b-12bccdd80788}NortonPCCheckupLicenseType2.0.13.11InstStub.exe /X” and hit enter. Follow onscreen instruction and you will be able to uninstall it. Now you can install Eset Smart Security.

ESET Smart Security Installation Error in Toshiba

Hello,

I think you are getting these errors because of the following:

1) You already have some antivirus installed in your system.

2) Your ESET setup file is maybe damaged.

3) Your downloaded setup maybe incompatible with your device.

You should check for the antivirus in your system from ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS in control panel and uninstall it, then again try installing ESET antivirus. If not, click here to download Eset antivirus.
