I am currently using Windows XP Professional edition. I have recently bought a new printer which I am trying to connect with the computer. But, I keep getting an error which says, Windows cannot connect to the printer error 0x0000007e. Please help.

This error occurs only on a computer with a 64-bit architecture where a 32-bit type printer is trying to connect with such computers. You can solve the problems using the steps given below.
- You need to start and stop the system spooler which gives commands to your printer. To restart the spooler, open your command prompt while logged in as administrator.
- Type the command, ‘net stop spooler.’
- Press the‘enter’ key and proceed.
- Now type the command, ‘net start spooler’ and then press enter.
- The print spooler will now restart.
- Try to reconnect your computer with the printer.
