Dear Jose,

I have read your question and I understand that you can’t upgrade your iPhone 4 to IOS 5.

You need to check the following steps:

  • You need to have the latest version of ITunes.
  • On ITunes  click on help then check for updates.
  • Make sure that you are able to connect to the internet.
  • Verify that your operating system is up to date.
  • Check for automatic updates.
  • If you have any other USB devices connected, you need to disconnect it.
  • Make sure that your anti-virus and security software is up to date.
  • You need to make sure that there is available space on your device for the update.
  • Remove any kind of software on your IPhone that might be taking space, that you don’t need it.
  • Make sure that you have backed up your iPhone because restore will erase everything.
  • Restart your computer and try again.
  • Sometimes you need to do several trials and it will work.
  • If you need to restore your device.
  • Connect your device to your computer.
  • Select your iPhone then click restore and update.
