Hello Ericson Eric,

In order to get this issue fully resolved, you have to use some third party tool for unzipping or exploring the zip files in your blackberry phone. File Scout is one of the best tools available for this purpose. Additionally, you can create directories and can also move files or folders around.

Another good tool is Beam File Explorer. It’s a free Blackberry File Manager. You can have both from the Blackberry App World.

Hi Ericson,

You can try to browse the file within Blackberry, just follow this simple step Click on you Media icon -> Menu -> Explore and then double click on the file, this should open the file. However, if you are still having an issue try BBScout application you can download it on app world.

If you have a BlackBerry phone and WinZip is installed but you cannot get it to work, there is probably a problem with the app. To fix it, just uninstall and reinstall. Delete the WinZip app from your BlackBerry phone then download WinZip for BlackBerry and install. This should fix the problem. This version supports BlackBerry 10 operating system.

WinZip is a free app for BlackBerry phones. The app allows you to view the following file formats:

  • For photos and images – JPG (.jpg), JPEG (.jpeg), PNG (.png), BMP (.bmp), and GIF (.gif)
  • For text files – RTF (.rtf), CSV (.csv), TXT (.txt), INI (.ini), INF (.inf), BAT (.bat), JS (.js), LOG (.log), XML (.xml), CSS (.css), and others
  • For web files – HTM (.htm), HTML (.html), JSP (.jsp), and ASP (.asp)
