An error occurred: 1. Ditto: can’t get real path for source

Hi,

While working on my system last night I encountered with this error suddenly and I was unable to access my hard drive anymore. Don’t know what exactly happened.

Can anyone tell me what should have happened and how to resolve this issue?

Hi there user:

The error occurred because you chose the wrong Mac OS X Lion Install Application. It mounted the DMG file itself. You should know that ‘Lion Disk Maker’ is alert to detect your copy of OS X.

 

But there’s nothing to worry if you experience this, Lion maker will instead allow you to select manually an InstallESD.dmg file. What you did was vice-versa. Now you know what to do. Install it first, and then mount the DMG file. Problem solved!
