Error on my Toshiba Satellite Fingerprint Reader

Hi,

I have a Toshiba laptop A200 with the following features;

Screen Size: 15.4 inches.

Processor: Intel Centrino featuring Intel Core 2 Duo.

Operating System: Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium Edition.

Hard Disk Drive: 160GB

Display: ATI Mobility Radeon

RAM: 2.0 GB

Bluetooth Version 2.0

Built in Fingerprint Reader.

Built in Microphone, Webcam and speaker.

I had a virus, but luckily I was able to perform a clean install using the software drivers preloaded with my laptop. I successfully installed everything. But once I restart my computer, I am receiving an error with my fingerprint reader software. The error is;

 

Fingerprint Software Error

 

Cannot find fingerprint sensor device.

 

0xe7200005 cannot find fingerprint sensor device. 

 

The fingerprint software is bundled with my laptop's drivers. So everything will be installed automatically, if I perform a system restore or clean install. This is from the Toshiba itself. But I could not figure out, why I am having this error. I don't remember registering a user account using this feature. Ever since I had this notebook, I never tried using this feature because, someone told me that sometimes the sensor could not read the registered fingerprint. Can someone here help me? I tried reinstalling my operating system, but the error is still appearing. Please help.

Error on my Toshiba Satellite Fingerprint Reader

Hi there,

It seems that the bundled drivers that came in with your laptop has all but the drivers for your Finger Print Reader. Even if you have all drivers bundled with your laptop it is always recommended that you always download and install all the latest drivers from manufacturer’s website for all your devices. 

Since it seems that Finger Print Reader driver is missing please download it from https://support.toshiba.com/support/viewContentDetail?contentId=4010099 along with all the other latest drivers. Once you have downloaded the latest drivers just install them and see how it goes.
