Error Message in Skype setup

Hello experts,

I am trying to set up Skype, but I get the following error message.

What causes this Error 1638 on Skype?

Skype – Information

Information

Installing Skype failed; code 1638

Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue.

To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.

need a solution.

Please suggest to me.

Error Message in Skype setup

Go to your Control Panel and click “add remove button”. When it gives all installed software detail then search Skype application in the list and hit the remove button in order to remove it. 

After removing Skype application, please restart your system and re-install the Skype application again.

Now, I am sure Skype will be installed and work properly.

Error Message in Skype setup

Hi Albert caballero,

You get an error because your previous Skype version did not install correctly, therefore some components cannot run.

In order to fix this, follow these steps:

• Uninstall previous Skype first by using Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features or by using other uninstall software.
• Clean your registry by using Cleaner (it’s a freeware and you can download from Internet easily).
• Re-install Skype.

Error Message in Skype setup

There are many causes for appearing this issue as well have many techniques to resolve this. Here provided all solutions are good but my recommendation also visit Techyv's another post to know more about that.
