Hi,

I am trying to install rhino right software but getting following error message when it goes half way:

“C:Docume~1userlocals~1temprar$Dl10.5063Rhino4_setup7.cab.

Verify whether that file exists and that can be accessed by you. Error code:1311, source file not found.”

I wish to request any one to help me with this.

Hello Suttie,

To resolve that issue, you will need to duplicate the contents of the installer CD to a folder on your hard disk or to a network share, and after that you will run the Setup from that folder.

Use the steps that follow:

  1. On your desktop, you will double click My Computer.
  2. And then you will double click the local or network drive on which you want to create a new folder.
  3. After that  you will go to the File menu, and then  point to New, and then click Folder.
  4. You will then type a name for the new folder, and then press ENTER.
  5. And then insert the CD into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then press SHIFT as you insert the CD to prevent Setup from starting automatically.
  6. After that go to My Computer, and then right-click the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then click Explore.
  7. Go to the Edit menu and then click Select All.
  8. After that go to the Edit menu and then click Copy.
  9. And then right-click the folder that you created and click Paste.
  10. Once you have copied the files to the new folder, you will have to quit all other programs that are running, and then double-click Setup.exe in the folder that you created.
  11. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Regards,

Carl

If you receive that message when installing the software, first, open Windows Explorer then navigate to the path indicated in the error message and check that the CAB file exist. If the indicated CAB file exists in the said path, try installing the software using the “Run as” option. Right-click the installer and select “Run as administrator”. See if this works.

On the other hand, if you are using a standard account and you want to install the software, ask someone with an administrator account to install the software for you. That problem is probably related to administrative privileges. Though standard accounts can sometimes install programs, applications that require system modification need an administrator account to install.
