Hello,
The following message encountered while I tried to backup data using Window Backup utility in Windows 2000.
I tried to backup in my old data drive that I have been using for last 13 years.
Will reinstalling Windows will solve the problem?
Error Code: Error 1058
Error Message: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.
Thanks,
Judith

Don’t worries about it because you don’t have to re-install windows follow the followings: First Click Start button, click to Programs, click to Administrative Tools, and then click to Services.
Then Double click the name of the service what you tried to start when before "Error 1058" occurred. The Properties window for that service will open in a second.
Just go to the Log on button in the Properties window. Ensure that the service has not been disabled for the hardware profile that you are using. If it had, click to enable.
Click the General tab. Again unsure that the service has not also been disabled in the Startup Type box. If it had, click Automatic button to have set it to be start when you start the computer.
That’s all.
