Hi Experts,

I am having a problem with my IBM ThinkPad. I was trying to install windows 7 on it. So I flashed the bios. But during the time of restarting my laptop the screen shows ERROR code 161, and it denied my access to bios set up. I am fully confused about how to fix it.

Hi

I will help you to install Windows 7 on your IBM Thinkpad. You said, you flashed the BIOS. There is no need to flash the BIOS to install Windows 7. According to IBM documentation, the error code 161 means dead battery. Install a new battery and try installing Win 7 once again. It should install. For more visit:

Hello Jordon!

If the error code appears before boot sequance taken, then it means that error code is generated by BIOS. Before flashing your BIOS, had you completely checked all the compatibilities for BIOS????

Also your access to BIOS setup is denied, the only to way to solve this problem is to roll back your BIOS software. It will be done by Jaff Box flashing device.

Other solution still there.

If you are enable to boot from cd rom without going into BIOS setup then you can try Bootable Flashing Software given by your company.
