Error 1797 on EPSON Printer Driver Installation

Hi,

I have the EPSON printer and while trying to install drivers I get error 1797 saying the driver is unknown. What suggestions do you have about is causing this problem? All drivers I get from EPSON official website.

Unable to install printer EPSON TM-U325 Receipt Error code= 1796.

The specified port is unknown.

Error 1797 on EPSON Printer Driver Installation

Dear Ray, you have got error while trying to install a new driver for EPSON printer. It is a common issue that happens while installing any driver.

There are two DLL files that are the main cause. They are:

srclient.dll:          C:Windowssystem32srclient.dll

framedyn.dll:     C:Windowssystem32wbemframedyn.dll

Download srclient.dll from here.

Download framedyn.dll from here.

Then copy the files into the directories stated above. Remove the old ones after making backup with the new ones.

Run the following commands in Command Prompt:

regsvr32 srclient.dll C:Windowssystem32wbemframedyn.dll

This will re-register the DLL files and you should have your problem solved.
