Epson Perfection V600 Color Photo Scanner and connection

Hi!

I have to always restart this scanner to make it work properly. After doing such step, it will continuously show blinking light and will not continue to scan any document. The part of the scanner where the plug is located, it is always hot. Could this be the cause of my problem or something else? Please provide me expert advice on how to resolve this issue, what are my alternative solutions that can be used, and what to do if this keeps on happening?
