When I tried to install security update MS04 038 on Microsoft Windows XP I got the following error message after start my computer.
What does it mean by The procedure entry point RegGetValueA could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAP132.dll?
How can I fix it?

Hey Mr.Slater,
There seems to be a problem with the installation of Windows XP Service Pack 2 on your computer.
You should first go to ‘add or remove programs’ in the control panel or click start button->click on ‘run’ ->type in ’ control appwiz.cpl  ’ and hit ‘enter ’ key.
You should look out for installed updates and select Windows XP Hotfix – KB834707, and click on ‘remove’ option. Allow your machine to restart.
Although your machine should restart without this error, you still have to repair your SP2.
Again go to ‘add or remove programs’ in control panel and select ‘Windows SP2 ’ and remove it.
To again install SP2, click on ‘start’ -> ‘all programs’ ->update.
Your computer will automatically check for necessary updates. Select and install them.
