Email virus? Or avast problem?

Hi,

I am having a problem with avast whenever I am sending or receiving any email message. The problem started when I updated to 6.0.1000 version. I haven’t found the solution in avast help Centre. Do you know how to fix this problem?

Hi Chet,

What is the error message that you are getting. Anyways, I have some solution here and I hope it could somehow help you. 

Upon installing the avast, did you meet these requirements?

– Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (any Edition with the latest Service Pack, 32-bit or 64-bit, including Small Business Server)

– Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 (any Edition with latest Service Pack, 32-bit or 64-bit, including Small Business Server)

– Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (any Edition with latest Service Pack, 32-bit or 64-bit, including Small Business Server, except server Core)

– Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (any Edition with latest service Pack, 32-bit or 64-bit, including Small Business Server, except server Core)

– Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2011

– Microsoft SharePoint Server 2003, Microsoft Sharepoint Server 2007 or Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 to get maximum benefit from e-protection (avast! Email Server Security)

– Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 or Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 to get maximum benefit from e-mail protection (avast! Email Server Security).

– Intel Pentium III Compatible processor or above (depends on the requirements of used operating system version and other 3rd party software installed)

– 256 MB RAM or above. 512 MB or above if running Microsoft Windows server 2008 or higher (depends on the requirements of used operating system version and other 3rd party software installed)

– 200 MB free space on the hard disk

– Optimally standard screen resolution not less than 1024 x 768 pixels

Hello Dear,

It is not possible for Avast to cause problem. Avast Antivirus deletes files which have viruses. It does not clean the files, it just detects viruses and moves the file to a virus chest folder that is built in Avast for quarantined files.

I suggest you use Panda Antivirus 2013 Pro. It will guard against mail viruses, enable web safe searching, and much more. You can download it from this link.

Hello My Dear,

 

Dear software that is developed by the software engineers cannot make any problem. As you said, avast cannot make any problem. But it can solve the problems. It is possible that your viruses have stopped avast's working.

In fact, when we do not update our antivirus regularly then these problems occurred.

Now I have a solution for you.

Your avast has infected by the virus and has stopped working.

So you need to install new Antivirus software.

I suggest you to download and install McAfee antivirus.

It is new and having much energy to fight against viruses.
