I am currently working on a video editing project but I have given a DVD for editing, so I tried to convert it into different footage formats but quality loses, have anyone idea how to edit that without losing of quality?

If you want to convert your videos withour hassle, the first option is for you to use an online tool that you can download as video editor. The thing with these stuff is you can't be sure of the quality as well. Since you've been doing video editing then you also have knowledge about the different formats. You can convert the DVD to mpeg or avi first then use another tool to edit. Whatever you do, do not change the resolution of the video and use Bit rate that is half of the original format. If you are concerned about the quality then you should not get too overwhelmed if the converted video has a larger file compared to what you are expecting. Some video converters always offer a lower bit rate which is better for saving but since you opt for quality, do not lower the bit rate any more less than half of the original copy.
