Error code 0x800710d8 can occur due to the not updated password for your service application. If you have already updated that, then you need to update the pool application as well. Also, it may be possible that your account, which is running the application pool, has not all rights by the user that are necessary to process. Make sure it has a log on service and batch job as well.
