I am trying to install CorelDRAW software on my Windows 7 computer and get stacked with the “Please wait while we configure DirectX” window. Then it closes the installation process followed by the error messages below:

DXSETUP.exe – Bad Image
C:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.5727mscorwks.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

dxsetup.exe – .NET Framework Initialization Error
C:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727 could not be loaded

Installation Wizard not complete
Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again. 

Click Finish to exit the wizard.

I have contacted Corel Support, and they stated that this a DirectX issue with Windows 7 but I could not find any useful replies from them.

What should I do now?

Hey there buddy!

So you have a DXSETUP error on your machine, I have read from other sites as well from people having the same problem, more importantly the error appeared almost all at the same time. So I talked to a bunch of guys that really know about DXSETUP.

I suggest you download the program PC Cleaner Pro from this site. It fixes various kinds of Windows Errors from ActiveX, JavaScript, C++ and Internet Errors. It also defragment your hard disk for maximum performance. After you download the program, install it and follow its instructions and it will scan your PC for errors. When it finishes and found several errors click FIX ALL.

Second, we have to download Reimagerepair.exe from here. It will reimage your Windows and repairs all kinds of errors from your  OS. The reason we are doing this is because we for some reason after we use the PC Cleaner Pro and fixes all issues from DXSETUP, after restart the issue appears again. So we need to reimage your Windows.

Lastly, after you do all this, check your system if it is updated if not then update your system from the Microsoft website. Make sure your system is updated of the latest patches to avoid more errors.
