I have DC win server 2008 with lots of XP clients.
Some of the users in DC are tested and shared files with them.
I log on as domain user and share a folder with permission.
However when I need another user the domain name does not show and I cannot select other users.
Why does it happen?
I would be glad to accept any suggestion that would help me correct this issue.

I don't know what is your method of accessing the domain user but to access it you have to use the dcpromo command in the cmd.
There are certain things that are asked when you log into using the command that I told you.

There are few hard coated IP addresses that are not selectable and so the domain user is not visible. Maybe this is the reason that you can't access them.

also check if the users that you are trying to select are able to be selected from the other domain user account.

If they are not accessible from that account too then there is a problem with those specific users too.
