Do I need an anti-virus software for my cellphone?

I just bought an iPhone for the first time, which is an iPhone 5s, and I learned about its feature of accessing the internet through wifi. I am wondering if iPhones are vulnerable to viruses which can be obtained from the internet just like computers. Will I have to download an anti-virus software too?

Hello,

You don't need an antivirus for your iPhone. As iPhone runs on iOS platform, and it is incredibly secure. Any application which is downloaded using iTunes apps store are in "Sandbox". These apps can not access your system files. So basically your phone is very secure until unless you have hacked your iPhone. As you can not download any third party software in iPhone there are no chances for your iPhone to get infected.
