Disk I/O Error in Skype 5.5

While using Skype Version 5.5 today, I got this error “Disk I/O Error” I am using Skype for almost a year now. In 12 months I haven’t got this error. I need Skype every time. If anyone knows about the resolution on this error please guide me as soon as possible. Thank you.

Error:

Disk I/O error. Right-click the Skype icon in the Windows taskbar at the bottom right of your screen and choose Quit. Then restart Skype. If you keep seeing this error, please contact Skype customer support.

Disk I/O Error in Skype 5.5

That problem is occurring possible because your internet connection is having problems. In case you are using broadband internet, you will need to check and make sure that the signal bars are full, for when they are empty then it means that there is not internet connection.

The problem may also be with Skype version that you installed. I will suggest that you downgrade from the Skype 5.5 version and install a Skype version 4 and see if that will solve the problem. The latest version that you installed might not be stable or has some compatibility problems with the operating system that you are using.
