Dim and yellow screen on a Lenovo Yoga HD+

The brightness settings on my Lenovo Yoga HD+ seem to change at random. I have checked the settings, and I made sure to select full brightness and deselect the automatic adjustments. This made no difference. What worries me a bit is that when the brightness goes down, the entire screen becomes also more yellow. If I go back to settings and change the brightness manually, everything goes back to normal. What could be the problem?

Hi Thomas, this is somewhat of a bug in a software and not a device glitch. In order to somehow rectify the problem, one just need to tweak some adjustments in the Systems Settings, try to set the brightness to full, then disable the auto adjustment, try to deactivate also the Dim night mode. And don’t use the USB cable to plug into a computer as a host for the device to get charged try to connect it direct to a power outlet.

I’m not sure if you’ll find help on this issue because the problem happened very recently and reported just this May 2014 or maybe earlier. And they are right, it is apparently a software problem rather than hardware because the issue only happens when the tablet is in Hold mode.

The Tilt and Stand modes don’t auto dim maybe because they have different color and or brightness settings. One user reported this to customer support and was instructed to do a factory reset. Though it worked for him, others didn’t find it to be helpful. Try doing a factory reset on your Lenovo YOGA HD+ tablet and see if it works for you.

To reset the tablet to factory default, drag down from the top-right side of the screen in the home screen and then tap Settings. Tap “Backup & reset” on the left and then tap “Factory data reset” on the right. Next, tap “Reset tablet” and then select “Erase everything” to confirm.
