Difference between VIA AC 97 and VIA AC 97 Enhanced Audio Controller

I have used both VIA AC 97 Audio Controller and VIA AC 97 Enhanced Audio Controller Drivers in the past and found same output. Is there really any difference between these two? If there is any, what is that?

Difference between VIA AC 97 and VIA AC 97 Enhanced Audio Controller

 

Hello,

They are different but when you use one or the other you can see the difference. After researching I found two things which make VIA AC’97 Audio Controller and VIA AC’97 enhanced Audio Controller different. The first thing is that VIA AC’97 enhanced Audio Controller is WHQL Certified for using on XP Pro and 2000 Pro and the second is that file version are higher or lower compared to the via arena July drivers.

Difference between VIA AC 97 and VIA AC 97 Enhanced Audio Controller

 

Hi Goldie,

As you mentioned that you have used both VIA AC 97 Audio Controller and VIA AC 97 Enhanced Audio Controller Drivers in the past and found same output. There are so many differences between these but to get the enhanced sound or output you don't only need better software or driver until you have to update hardware component.

To get the full results of VIA AC 97 Enhanced Audio Controller Driver you need to update your sound I/O component.
