Determine the Skype traffic android device

Checking my traffics based on the tcpdump of Skype traffic android, the list of traffic shows foreign dial up IP addresses. I am wondering how much traffic some apps generate and how can I determine it? I mean, I want to know an estimated number of traffic that are generate when synchronizing with social media networks and email clients and how much when I am online on Skype?

Hey,

As per your requirements, I will recommend you to download an application from the Market called PhoneUsage. It will track and show you that how many text messages, minutes, and data you use.

By the help of this you can view which applications use how much traffic. It will alert you if you exceed your preset usage limits and other useful feature.

There are 35 best android apps that are available in the android market that you can choose from but I recommend this app to you named “ZDbox” which I think this is the best among the rest though there were all good.

Hi, 

I understand what you are talking about there is an awesome app in the play store which is made for this purpose. Its called Phone Usage. You can track your text messages, the data used and the traffic which is used by Skype etc over 3g but not WiFi. I hope it is what you are looking for.

If you have an Android phone and you want to check the data usage or bandwidth usage of every app on your device, try downloading GlassWire Data Usage Monitor. The latest version at the moment, GlassWire Data Usage Monitor 2.0.324r, requires Android 5.1 Lollipop and higher. This is rated 3+. Unfortunately, the app hasn’t been updated yet.

Another app you should check is Data counter widget. It is a data counter widget that monitors how much network traffic your mobile phone uses. Among the features include:

• Home screen widget
• Internet speed screen and quick settings tile
• App data usage
• Device data usage
• Roaming usage
• Historical data usage
