Desktop computer is running slowly and not performing well

I just bought a new ASUS PC. After some months of using, I perform a full scan on it using my AVAST antivirus. A Trojan was detected after the scan. After eliminating the virus, my computer started to run very slow and it seems it is not performing well. Do I need to reformat my computer? Or do you have any other suggestions that will fix this issue?

According to me Virus attacked your computer operating system's some files. When you scan your computer, the antivirus removed the attacked files. So the Operating System missed some files, now at this time the Operating System can no do its regular work easily. In this case You need to repair, or, reinstall your Operating System.

Hi Joseph H Higuchi,

Some how you PC attacked by some strong virus which can cause this problem. You can use a software like CCleaner and use this software to delete the junk files of your computer. This may solve your problem somehow. Best way to solve this problem is you should reinstall your operating system. Also you can use a good antivirus.

I think theirs no another way to solve the problem.

The most common reason that affects on slowing your PC is the virus infection. If you have already installed AVAST anti virus software to your PC make sure that  your product is genuine. If the computer is getting slow further after removing the Trojan you have not removed it properly. Scan your PC again. Then

1. Start avast antivirus program
2. From the tools menu click on "Virus Chest"
3. Select "Infected Files" then you can see all the infected files
4. Select the file or files you want and right click on the selected items.
5. Then click on delete from the menu

In order to protect your PC from viruses just install your antivirus software in the new window installation with formatted all drives.

Before adding anything in your computer, install antivirus first.

This will protect your computer throughout. After this procedure computer will never slow down after scanning files.

This will resolve your problem.

To fix this issue delete all unwanted programs, install or update anti-virus program and then Run RegInOut Scan. To know more procedures read this Techyv post.
