Hello to all Experts! I need you help right now. I just downloaded a file from my email attachment. But I can’t seem to find the default location where the file is automatically saved. I already used the search feature on my computer but it failed to locate the file. Any help would be appreciated.

Default location of downloaded files

Hello Drew,

When you download any file or attachment from the internet, the default location where it is saved is in downloads under my documents. But since in your case it is an attachment,  it should be saved in the compressed folder in downloads which is still under my documents. So to trace your downloaded attachment on your computer, click on start on your computer, then go to my computer on the programs list and click on it. When it opens look for my documents and click on it, then click on downloads and then compressed. The file should be in there.

Otherwise you can use an application called avafind to easily find your attachment. With avafind installed on your computer, just click on it to execute it, and then type the name of the attachment and then click search. Avafind will display the file and allow you to open it.
