Hi,

I performed a Basic SharePoint Foundation (beta) using Win 2008 R2 x64 server and also installed Office 2010 on the same box. When I try to view a list in Data Sheet view, I get the following error message. Help me to fix this issue.

Thanks.

The list cannot be displayed in Datasheet view for one or more of the following reasons:

-A datasheet component compatible with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation in not installed.

-Your Web Browser Does not support ActiveX Controls.

-A component is not properly configured for 32-bid or 64 bit support.

Hi Donald,
The error is because the 32 bit version of Office is installed in your system.
The solution to the error is:
1) For the first error, you need to install the Office 64 bit version.
2) The Active X Control needed for the DataSheet View is incompatible with 64 bit Office version. To resolve this error:
a) Check for 32 bit version of office is installed where IE 8 is installed
3) Install 32 bit versions of only Office Applications as both 32 and 64 bit complete versions cannot reside on the same OS
