Microsoft still working on the curvy keyboard

The curvy keyboard was first seen during the Microsoft Research presentation done recently.the reason which for the keyboard was designed to be curvy is to match with your thumb. It’s a QWERTY keyboard, but the individual characters sorted into distinct blocks.

The design looks a little confusing, and many people will have forgotten how to type on anything but a QWERTY keyboard, but with a little practice this could be a considerable benefit, especially as Windows Phone 8 will include support for higher resolution – and therefore physically larger  – screens.The curvy keyboard should look like this:

It’s not yet official but rumors are circulating since last year about a curvy keyboard being introduced in Windows Phone 8. It seems that Microsoft is finding easy ways for users to enjoy their phones even when constructing messages. Because today’s new generation of mobile phones keeps getting bigger screens when touchscreen capability began its introduction on Smartphones.

Since touchscreen Smartphones have bigger screens, it would be difficult to construct even a single message with only one hand. Before touchscreen became popular, it’s very easy for a user to tap on the keyboard to create a message using only the thumb. But when they started introducing touchscreen handsets, this has become difficult. The supposed curvy on-screen keyboard will slide in from one side of the screen which will be easier for the thumb to reach while still holding the phone.
