Hello Dudley,

The RAR format  is an archive format and therefore to convert the RAR files to mp4 format you will need to UN-RAR the files first. You will need to use Better Zip, which is the best tool to use on OSX for all sorts of archives. Another app you can use is UnRARX.

Regards,

Carl

Hi Dudley,

You need to download the software. This is a very easy to use, effective and free software, which means you don't have to pay anything to use this.

Then, extract all the .rar files using the software. This way, you will get your desired .mp4 files.

Hope this helps!

I think you are mistaken. There is no way you can convert a RAR file into MP4 regardless of the target operating system. Because in the first place, a RAR file is a compressed file created by a file compressor called WinRAR while MP4 is a video file. Their data are extremely different. While you cannot convert a RAR file into MP4, a RAR file can contain a video file in any format such as MP4.

If a RAR file contains a video file, you don’t need to convert it into a video file such as MP4. You simply need to unpack or extract the contents of the RAR file and you will be able to see the video file it contains. You can then play it using your media player like VLC or Windows Media Player.

Converting a RAR file containing video files into MP4 or any video format is an entirely wrong concept. The RAR file needs to be unpacked and not converted. If you have a RAR file, you need to have WinRAR to properly extract the contents. If you don’t have WinRAR yet, visit WinRAR Archiver Downloads to download the latest WinRAR.

You can also use 7-Zip on RAR files but if you have a multi-part or multi-volume RAR archive, 7-Zip may not be able to unpack it as what I’ve experienced.
