Convert wps to docx file format

Dear Friends,

I am having MS Word 2007 in my system, recently one of my client sent me a wps file, which I need to open in MS Word, please guide me about how to convert wps to docx file format so that I can open the file.

Convert wps to docx file format

 

Hi,

I can say that .wps files are an old school which means that it was normally used before but it is different nowadays. There is a lot of ways or method on  how to convert and save .wps file to word (. docx) file. For me, this is the easiest and most convenient way.

Follow these steps :

1.   You install Windows Works 6-9 Converter. This converter lets you open and save Works files to a Windows file. You can download it at the link below:

2.   After installing, you have to find and open your .wps files to convert by double clicking it.

 

3.   A dialog box will pop-up saying that “Windows cannot open this file…”, it will ask you what you want to do and will show two options. Choose the second option then click ok.

 

4.   Another window will come out asking you what program you want to open the .wps files. Choose Microsoft Word. Also check the “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file” in the lower left corner of the window.

 

5.   Your .wps files will now permanently linked to Windows Word.

Convert wps to docx file format

 

Well!

 

WPS Files are also called Microsoft Works. 

 

One of the easiest way of converting .WPS format files to .DOC format file or .DOCX format files is to open WPS file in Microsoft Word 2007 or later and click on Save as.

 

In save as menu, select file format in “save type as” to  Doc or Docx format.

Convert wps to docx file format

Hello , Archer. 

When converting wps format into .docx format, software is available to do that. But, it can't be sure to perfectly convert. There is some error can be encountered while you're in the process. Better to do it manually.  How to convert the wps format into .docx or .doc format? Just follow these steps.

Open your wps file in Microsoft Word. Click on Microsoft Office menu and select "Save As…". Choose the *.doc or *.docx from the save as type and click "Save" to start converting. When it finished converting, right-click on the wps file and rename the file  extension. The next step is viewing the file into "Word Viewer". This will view, copy and print Microsoft Word documents and works even without those programs being installed. Just download and also install it if you don't have any.

After that, open your wps files using the Word Viewer and just copy the text. Create a new document and paste the copied text and save it in .doc or .docx format. This can be perfectly convert ed your wps into .doc format. Hope this will help you best.
