Hi experts,

Recently installed a new game on my PC and I have this error about it. I have lots of games installed on my PC and this is only one with errors. I tried in many ways to fix this but no result for me and my game. How can I solve this game error? Why this is the only game that have errors?

Thanks!

The application or DLL C:WINDOWSsystem32d3d8.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

The error in the dialog box is referring to the “d3d8.dll” file which is also being used in Microsoft DirectX 9.0c. Normally, when you get an error related to Microsoft DirectX, you should check your game’s system specifications for the supported operating system and the required version of Microsoft DirectX. But most of the time, there has never been any problems with Microsoft DirectX since it comes together with Microsoft Windows.

Since you did not mention the name of the game you are playing, the file “conquer.exe” could be from any game or maybe from the old real-time strategy game “Command & Conquer”. The best way to deal with it is to check the game’s information again and making sure it supports your operating system. If you are using Windows XP and later, most of the old games no longer work on these operating systems.

If you are using an operating system higher than Windows XP, try running the game as administrator. Right-click on the program’s shortcut and select Properties. Select Compatibility tab and check “Run this program as an administrator”. Click OK and start the game again.
