Connect to Dynex DX-E402 router remotely

Hello everyone,

I have a home router Dynex DX-E402 and I was trying to tie into a component via Ethernet cable. I was required to forward a port and I forwarded port 80. I wanted to remotely access a component through the router and I reserved an IP address that was assigned to that component. I couldn't log in to the home router. What is it that I needed to put in the browser to allow remote access?

Hi Derek,

You will need to enter the internet facing or outside address of your modem in the web browser's address bar. I hope your router is configured in a way to forward port 80 to this device's IP address. If IP address entered correctly it will be sent from router and from there it will be forwarded to your home network. To find your external IP address, go here, the link will help you to know what is your IP address. So my answer is make sure the IP address is entered in the space provided, then only you can remotely connect your router. I hope you got what i meant.

Regards

Antonette
