Configuring an E1000 router with a Mac Lion

My friend recently bought an E1000 router and a Mac Lion to go with it. When he gets to the router's page, it asks him again for the router's username & password by going to another tab most of the time, which freaked him out.

Could anybody explain why this is happening? Is the Mac Lion compatible with the E1000 router?

All you have to do to be reset the button by pushing it. I was experiencing a hard time to find the recessed reset button before.

It has a tiny hole, through which you must insert a solid stick, just to hold it for almost 20 seconds before it is run. You have to connect the latest router to the modem while it is off, then it’s time to turn-on your modem. After warming up, you have to push the button on your modem, while resuming from the reset button.

Then, you should turn-on your router and do some warm up and don’t be surprised because it will work.

The E1000 comes with an installation CD with the Cisco Connect Software for easy setup. However, the software seems to have difficulties configuring the router if you use a MAC Lion. I wonder how you installed the router – was it through the CD or you manually accessed the User Interface?

Anyway, for your current situation, you can try to clear the cache of your browser.

For Safari, clear cache
For Firefox, clear cache

Then restart your computer. If the problem persists, reset the device by pressing the tiny red button on the back panel using a pin or a paper clip. If you can feel that the button is pressed down, you are doing it correctly. Press it then let go if the power starts to blink. Wait for the LED lights to lit and for the power light to go solid. Reconfigure the router either via installation disk or manual configuration by accessing the setup page of the router using its IP address 192.168.1.1 and password "admin".
