Computer Speakers Not Producing Any Sound

Recently, I bought Altec Lansing IML247 Orbit USB speakers for my computer. After 3 weeks, I’m starting to have issues on using it. The problem is I can’t hear anymore sound from the speakers. Despite that, I can still listen to music by substituting my speakers with headphones. I wonder what is wrong. My computer is up to date but I still can’t find the reason why the sound is always muted when I’m using those speakers. I am running a Windows Vista computer. To those who can help, a thousand thanks to you.

Computer Speakers Not Producing Any Sound

There can be lot of issues regarding your problem. But I am sure that it's not your driver's problem or computer volume setting problem, otherwise you cannot be able to listen sound from your headphones also. So this is the problem with your speakers or check the connecting wires, that whether the wires are perfectly connected or there is also possibility that those wires are broken from somewhere. But if your speaker wires are connected perfectly and your drivers are also working well, then obviously its the problem with your speakers, then you should contact altec lansing company, from where you bought those. If your speakers are still under warranty then you should have to claim for your speakers.

Hello Jane

 

First of all i would like to tell you that you should uninstall the drivers from your computer and then reinstall them using the cd or dvd which you got with the motherboard.Beside this you can also upgrade the drivers from the internet.Well if this does not work then you can just reinstall the windows again and check whether the speakers are working or not.But if this also does not work then don't worry because your speakers are in warranty and you can simply take the copy of your bill along with the speakers and show it to the vendor from where you bought it.It would get replaced for sure under the warranty period.Hope this will help you.

You really helped me, Gaurav3282 . I tried your steps to reinstall my audio drivers but it didin't work. I was lucky enough that the speaker is still under warranty, I contacted Altec Lansing Company and they found out that the speakers are defective. Thank you very much, techyv is a very helpful site.

Hi 

First of all check all of necessary things, connectors if plugged in the green socket, the power of the speaker. You can also try testing it to other device that has audio in your house and see if it is working. Also you can visit this Techyv post too because this post also provided some techniques to fix this issue.

No sound from speakers??? What to do?
