Compatibility between microsoft 2013 package and 2010 files

What are some of the features that I would expect to be new in word 2013 that is not present in 2010? I have windows 7 computer, is there any update that is required for me to run word 2013? Will I be able to access my word 2010 files when I install 2013?  Does the office 2013 also have back word compatibility with the other packages like publisher and access?

Compatibility between microsoft 2013 package and 2010 files

You will experience the New Read Mode, wherein the page view displays your document in easy to read columns with image. Double tapping or clicking will zoom in or out the page. Additional convenience will be experienced. It will open the page where you left off automatically. You can now insert online videos and watch right in. Collapse and expand parts of the document by just tapping or clicking. It is also compatible to save and share files in the cloud. It has also working together by different users on the same file all at the same time capability.
