Cloud hosting provider VS. Regular hosting

I would need help in determining companies that are major cloud hosts. I know that Amazon is a major cloud hosting provider through the Amazon Web Service division. What is the main distinction of a cloud host from a regular host? Do they have a different billing and monitoring system but similar equipment?

Hi Justine,

The main difference of Cloud hosting to Regular hosting is that on regular hosting, it is usually on a single location only. If the site undergoes some failure, you data would not be available for you. On Cloud hosting on the other hand, the information are replicated on numerous server. So data will always be available for you. They are both cheap, offers great packages and no IT staff required to managed the IT department.
