I need quality images on my website. Could you please suggest which file format the image should be saved in for the best quality picture experience for our site visitors? Which format works best for all kinds of web browsers? Would you recommend I use jpeg or png or something different altogether?

Under it the detail of each one you can choose from that.

JPEG is the format that is good with only photography. If you are drawing something or making maps, then this is not good it will fade the drawing and maps.

PNG is best for the straight lines and drawing.

GIF should only be used for IE 6. Is is only used for 256 plate color.
