Hello.

I am using CentOS 5.5 on my personal computer. I am receiving an error message from the new server on the computer. The error message is just like the following:

"Northbridge Error, node 2<0>K8 ECC error".

I have tried a lot of tricks to get myself free of this particular problem. But my efforts were fruitless. Does anyone have any suggestion to fix the problem? Thanks a lot in advance.

Dear Nathan,

According to the error message you got, keep in mind that you are running a NUMA system and your memory controllers are in the CPUs. Thus, the problem can easily be isolated to a single CPU/Ram bank. Try to swap each ram module with one from the other banks and see whether you are getting the error message or not. If you received the error message, the node number mentioned in the error message should move. If as expected the number moved, then the problem was the ram module. If not, it's a cpu problem, try to swap the cpus to rule out socket / mobo.

Hope this may help you.

Best of luck
